About the Challenge

The World’s Largest STEM Competition

What is STEM Racing?

The STEM Racing challenge in North America is an annual STEM competition that challenges students from across the US and Canada at the regional and national level. Designed for teachers, informed by engineers, and endorsed by Formula 1, this program sets students on the fast track to STEM success; and provides a lot of fun on the way there. The competition features several ‘project elements,’ detailed below and two classes of competition. It may looks like a lot for a team of three to six students, but many talented students rise to the challenge each year and produce incredible products! Are you ready for the challenge?

Project Elements

Every STEM Racing team works throughout the year to develop their team’s branding and identity and unique car design. All their hardwork and dedication is summed up via the Project Elements they submit for regional and national competitions. Scroll through the elements below to learn more.
