Calling all Judges & Volunteers!

Judges and volunteers are integral to the success every year of the National Finals.

We welcome all volunteers - from industry experts to alumni!

The competition will be held in-person at the Hilton Charlotte Airport Hotel and Conference Center in Charlotte, NC April 7-9th, 2025.

  • Trackside Operations & Racing

  • Registration & Check-In

  • Primary STEM Activity

  • Event Coordinators

  • General Volunteers

Schedule Overview:

Monday - Prejudging, Judges Orientation & Event Setup

Tuesday - Competition Day 1 - Racing Sessions, Judging Interviews & Presentations & Primary STEM Activity with local K-6th graders 

Wednesday - Competition Day 2 - Feedback Sessions live with teams, Knockout Racing, Awards Ceremony 



Judges/Volunteer Time Commitments:

  • Judges (Engineering, Enterprise, and Project Management) are needed Monday at Noon through Tuesday at 6pm. Feedback sessions on Wednesday from 8am-Noon are optional but GREATLY APPRECIATED. 

  • Judges (Verbal Presentation) are needed Tuesday from 7:30am to 6pm. Orientation will take place Tuesday Morning before judging. Feedback sessions on Wednesday from 8am-Noon are optional but GREATLY APPRECIATED. 

  • Judges (Scrutineering) are needed for Orientation Monday at 10am and then through 6pm (potentially slightly later) for specing. 

  • Volunteers are needed at various times on each day (full or partial day sessions). You can volunteer for one session or multiple!

  • While not required, all judges and volunteers are invited to attend the Awards Ceremony Dinner on Wednesday from 4-6pm

Costs

Meals (lunch + dinner), uniforms, and materials are provided to all judges and volunteers during their volunteer times.

Judges are welcome to stay at the official hotel - the Hilton Charlotte Airport - using our group rate $159/ni (Group Code “91O” or via https://www.hilton.com/en/attend-my-event/f1-in-schools-us-ntl-finals/). The rate is valid for King and Double Queen suites and includes breakfast for up to four people per room. You can use this link to book or by visiting their website and entering the group code.
